This specification establishes the requirements for various types and colors of electrical insulating sleeving that will shrink to a predetermined size upon the application of heat. This specification includes provisions for demonstrating compliance with qualification requirements, in process inspection, and statistical process control inspections. The continuous operating temperature ranges for the sleeving classes covered by this specification are from -112 to +482 °F (-80 to +250 °C). The continuous operating temperature range for each sleeving class is given in the applicable detail specification.

Tef Cap’s Heat Shrinkable Fluoropolymer Tubing is available in both PTFE, FEP and PFA resins. All three resins offer high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, excellent dielectric strength, non-flammable, VW-1 rated and are virtually 100 % chemically inert. FEP heat shrinkable sleeving is available in 1.3:1 and 1.6:1 ( 1.67:1 ) shrink ratio’s. PTFE shrink tubing is offered in a 2:1 and 4:1 shrink ratio. Custom sizes, shrink ratios and colors are available in the PTFE and FEP Heat Shrink Tubing / Sleeves. Tef Cap’s Fluoropolymer Heat Shrink Tubing meets AMS-DTL-23053/11 and AMS-DTL-23053/12 specifications.
