Extra Flex Convoluted PTFE Tubing • 81914/2
Convoluted PTFE Tubing Extra Flex or Close Convolution is manufactured to be an equivalent to that of Corrugated FEP Tubing where sharp turns and small band diameters are needed. By adding more convolutions per inch and adjusting the pitch of the convolutions Extra Flex material will give you a bend diameter almost as great as corrugated material.
PTFE Tubing will operate in applications where high temperatures are required and other materials are not suitable. Both PTFE and FEP are FDA approved materials and can be used in food and medical industry.
Mil-Spec Convoluted PTFE Tubing is a high temperature material that has a non-stick surface, allowing easy cleaning. Convo PTFE Tubing is excellent as an electrical or fluid conduit in harsh environments because of its resistance to most corrosive liquids including acids. However PTFE Tubing is not recomended for applications that require or will use Gamma Sterilization.
- Recommended for higher temperature and pressure applications
- PTFE can be post formed with cuffs easier than FEP or PFA
- Conductive ID PTFE Convoluted Tubing is also available
- Convoluted PTFE Tubing made to SAE-AS81914/2
- PTFE has the best flex-life of all Fluoropolymers
- Also known as Close Convolution
