Heat Shrinkable FEP Probe Covers

Manufactured form high temperature chemically resistant Fluoropolymer Tubing, FEP Probe Covers are designed to withstand the harshest environments. Tef Cap Industries produces a clear Heat Shrinkable FEP sleeve that is designed to slip over the outer diameter of most standard thermocouples and probes and when shrunk into place provides an almost impenetrable barrier between caustic fluids and costly instruments. Tef Cap’s method of sealing Shrinkable FEP Tubing results in a smooth, round, conforming, pinhole-free seal.
Heat Shrinkable FEP Probe Covers are supplied with a nominal wall thickness of .010-inch thick wall, much thicker than conventional PTFE, FEP or PFA spray coatings that are often only 1 to 2 mils thick. FEP Probe Covers are not only chemically resistant but they are also manufactured from FDA compliant resins which allow for them to be used in food processing applications.
Encapsulation of costly thermocouples and stainless steel sensors not only helps extend the life of the parts but it also helps increase the compatibility of parts throughout several different industries and applications. FEP Probe Covers enable all coated parts to benefit from the non stick properties of Fluoropolymer Tubing.

Tef-Cap has extensive knowledge and equipment plus testing facilities to ensure that your probe is properly encapsulated and protected. Our FEP Probe Covers are designed to slip over standard size probes and shrink when exposed to a heat source of approximately 300ºF. Specific shrinking instructions are available upon request. A typical probe encapsulation should take no more than two to three minutes. If you are not comfortable with shrinking Tef-Cap Probe Covers on your instruments why not have Tef-Cap do the encapsulation for you. All probes can be encapsulated and returned on an expedited basis – generally no more than one or two days are required.
