Extruded Smoothbore PTFE Tubing • Heavy Wall .062
Extruded PTFE Heavy Wall or Heavy Construction Tubing has the widest range of applications thanks to its high service temperature, superior chemical resistance and insulating properties. With a clean smoothbore interior PTFE Tubing allows for a restriction free flow. PTFE Tubing has a low permeability to gases and liquids. PTFE is almost completely inert to chemical attack, but under special conditions, it can be affected by such substances as alkali metals and halogens. Extruded PTFE Tubing is heat resistant to 500°F and is ETO (ethylene oxide) and autoclave sterilizable for repeat usage.
Fluoropolymer tubing is considered a highly flexible tube but the properties of PTFE Tubing allow for it to have the best flex life out of the group.
- PTFE Tubing has the lowest coefficient of friction of all known solid materials.
- Temperature : -454°F (–270°C) to 500°F (260°C)
- Excellent chemical & electrical protection.
- Fits Standard Compression & Barbed Fittings.
- Recommended for fluid handling applications.
- PTFE Tubing offers superior release properties.
- Approved for use in food contact applications in compliance with FDA regulation: 21 CFR 177.1550.
- USP Class VI approved.

PTFE Tubing is a soft fluoropolymer (otherwise called Teflon, which is an enlisted trademark of DuPont) with a low coefficient of contact, implying that few materials stick to it, and most that do stick can be stripped or picked off easily. PTFE additionally is chemically inert, weather resistant and has amazing electrical properties. It stays stable at both cryogenic and elevated temperatures (from – 400°F up to 500°F). The properties of PTFE can be enhanced by including fillers such as, glass fibers, carbon or graphite.
